What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving...my little niece and nephew! (More details on my trip to visit them later!)
Aren't they precious?

I'm loving...Kim Kardashians wedding ring. Sure it's HUGE and GAWDY and WAY TOO BIG, but I would still want to wear it for one day! :)
Her "E! Wedding Special" is supposed to air sometime in October. Who's gonna watch it with me?

I'm loving...the new show "Take the Money and Run!"
Have you seen it? Ahhhh, I would be soooo fantastic at this show.

\

I'm loving...that I have two trips coming up with CV!

(1)
Memphis, TN for my 10 Year High School Reunion
BHS Class of 2001, baby!
(Man, I'm old!)

(2)
Raleigh, North Carolina and the Outer Banks of North Carolina
A week vacation to visit the "V" family.

I'm loving...that there is finally some action on the Jersey Shore. Last season was a complete snooze-fest, so I'm happy this season there is more crying/fighting/smushing. Ha.

And I'm loving...that I have an extended weekend due to Labor Day!
What are YOU loving today?

A Horse Of Course

I'm been busy. It's true.
With what? Who really knows.
But whatever it is, it's been keeping me away.
From you.

So, here's some pictures I've neglected to show you from the past month.
This will atleast get you up to speed to August! :)

Me & CV at an Engagement Party for one of his friends.
My dress is BCBG and has Greyhound Racing Dogs on it. I totally wish you could see it up close. It's quite the conversation starter.

And again. (iphone pictures aren't the best, ya know!)

And here's the engaged friend I speak of.

And then after a long night of drinking and dancing...I get violated.
...by this horse.

He was very "friendly" if I do say so myself.

Also, as of July, I've joined the "double digits club" of major league baseball games this year. It's kinda like the "mile-high club" except not at all.

Here are some pics from the Reds website:
(don't you hate when they have a big PROOF stamp across your face?)

CV was my date to my banker's meeting at the game in a Founders Suite. Fancy Pants!

And a Random Friday Night at the Game.
Oh just laughing....because baseball is funny.
And making some bets! I WON! (Look how happy I am and how unhappy CV is!)
Too bad I ended up losing it all at the end of the game! :(
This picture is a keeper.
Oh, and that's CV's BFF behind us, not just some random photo-bomb.

AND...I went to yet another Reds Game with my company.
Here are some of my co-workers.
And why must I slouch down when I'm the shortest one? Who knows! :)
I bet you are sick of looking at pictures of me at a baseball game..right??
Don't worry. Baseball season is almost over.

Well, that's it for now.
More "catch-up" later this week!

Happy Monday Everyone! :)

Tail Wagging Tuesday

This Weeks Topic: Funniest Picture

It's extremely hard to get a funny picture of Paisley.
Why? Because she immediately stops being funny once she sees me getting out the camera.

Here's one from Halloween.
She's not laughing, but I am.

And her sitting on top of the arm rest of my apartment.
Silly dog.

Mid-yawn in front of the Autumn leaves.

And posing for a Christmas Card photo shoot.
Ha.

Oh, I love my little Paisley Grace!!
Wanna show us funny pictures of your dog? Well link up with CMae and join along!

Prayers for Indiana

A memorial will be held tonight for the five people who were killed at the Sugarland concert at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday Night.

Here is a video of the stage collapsing. Be prepared if you decide to watch.

Definitely a sad, unexpected event.

My prayers go out to all those involved and their families, as five died and over 40 were injured.

I Wonder What Else I Can Spray Paint...

I decided to give the ole knife block a facelift.
From an unfinished light wood, (that matched nothing except for the wooden spoons in my kitchen.)

To a shiny shade of black. (that matched everything except for the wooden spoons in my kitchen.)

I think everything needs an upgrade every now and then. Whether it's your house, car, job, wardrobe, or even the little knife block that you bought at Walmart over five years ago that sits on the counter in your kitchen.

Happy Friday all!

You know what really pisses me off???

I got this idea from Neely @ A Complete Waste of Makeup. And since I agreed with most of her "piss me off/make me happys" I decided to add to it with a list of my own. Here it is:

IF YOU'RE TRYING TO PISS ME OFF...

Walk slow at the mall

Serve me brownies with nuts in them

Force me to be around cats (Stole this one from Neely because it is SO true)

Don't give me a raise

Let your children run wild around the restaurant/store/etc and not care

Take a week to respond to my email/text

Complain about the dog hair on my couch (if you have a problem...click here)

Don't meet up with me when I come into town

Cancel plans at last minute

Talk bad about me or my friends
(I overheard his guy called me & friends "idiots" last weekend after we beat them in boche ball. Grrrr, stupid sore loser!)

Only give me 15 minutes to get ready.

Call me "Jackie" immediately after I finish saying "Nice to meet you, My name is JACQUELINE"
(It happens daily, trust me!)

IF YOU'RE TRYING TO MAKE ME HAPPY...

Tell me Paisley is the cutest dog you've ever seen

Tell me I don't own enough shoes and that I should go buy more

Make me an fresh fruit smoothie

Buy me fresh flowers, and include a sweet note

Share a bottle of my favorite wine with me
(and don't tell me its "too sweet"!)

Take me on a picnic

Send me Snail Mail

Tell me I look younger than I actually am

Travel with me or come visit me for the weekend

Give me a massage

Get excited about taking a picture with me
(and request to take more pictures)

Kill all spiders in my vicinity

Join the Be The Match Program with me

Suprise me! (I LOVE suprises!)

That's my list! Take note!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving...that tonight is Mexican Night! I can't wait to dive into a bowl of salsa!

I'm loving...that I have tickets to the Reds game tomorrow AND again on Friday.
Tomorrow, I am going with my entire company (there's about 50 of us!) And Friday, CV and I are joining my bosses in the company suite! Can't wait!

I'm loving...that I have a box ticket to the U.S. Tennis Open next week! #workperk :)

However, I'm NOT loving that I am super busy at work and I have to cut my "What I'm Loving" short!
Back to work...

How to Paint A Wood Table

Remember my post on Mr. Picasso??? Well, I promised a tutorial, so here it is.
Since he was in pretty good condition, I only had to tightened a few screws, and then he was ready to be transformed. Here's how:

Step One: Sanding
I gently sanded the wood using 100-grit sandpaper to get down to the bare wood.
Then, washed off the wood dust with a damp rag.

Step Two: Priming
After he was dry, I used a white primer and sprayed a light coat to the entire table. Note: Make sure you are in a well ventilated area!

Step Three: Painting
After the primer dried, I sprayed two coats of paint on the entire table.

Step Four: Watch Paint Dry
Wait about 24 hours to let your final coat of paint dry. (Or up to 3 days depending on the quality of the paint/wood.)

Get Creative
I wanted my table to be a little artsy, so I found an old painting I had stored in the basement. Measured and cut it to fit the insert in the table. And topped it with the original glass table top. (There are lots of things you can do with glass table tops, put your thinking cap on and think of something original to showcase under it!)

Here is the cost breakdown:
TABLE - Goodwill - $4.27
SANDPAPER - Home Depot - $0.70 for one sheet
PRIMER - Home Depot - $4.02
PAINT - ACE Hardware - $4.29
PAINTING - Already Had - $0.00
TOTAL - $13.28

I think it was $13.28 well spent. What do you think of my first project???
*Project #2 Coming Soon...

Photo Booth Fun

CV and I went to his cousin's wedding this weekend . AND if it weren't for the photo booth, we would have close to zero pictures from the event. (only because I lost my camera charger!!! grrrr!!!)
So thank you Photo Booth Photos, for saving the night!

I'm a big fan of the photo booth at weddings. Aren't you???

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving...that I will be in Memphis in TWO WEEKS!

I'm loving...the table I refinished! I just can't stop staring at it! :)

And I'm loving...that I already have my next furniture victim!
(Spoiler Alert: It's a CHAIR!)

I'm loving...Root Beer! I don't drink sodas very often, but root beer is definitely my favorite! I had one last night and it was delish!

I'm loving...these new Jessica Simpson wedges I bought last week.
(Yes, more shoes, but in my defense they were on sale!)

I'm loving...this picture!
I wonder if my photographer friend, Candice, takes pictures like that?

She's Crafty! Part II (THE FINISHED PRODUCT!)

Remember my post from yesterday about this little table???

Well, after a little work, I transformed this ugly duckling into a beautiful (and artsy) swan!
(Whom I've named Mr. Picaso!)

I'm pretty excited about the end result!

What do you guys think????

And I'll ofcourse post a tutorial later this week, for anyone I just inspired! :)
Checking off #22 from my 101 list: Find A New Hobby!

Monday, August 1, 2011

She's Crafty! (Well, atleast that's the plan!)

I found a new hobby and I'm really excited about it.
Need a hint?
Well, it involves screwing and lots and lots of wood.
I made you think something dirty, didn't I???
Well, get your minds out of the gutter because of course I'm talking about
Refinishing Furniture!

That's right, my new hobby = refinishing furniture.
Well...I guess I better finish my first project before I start calling it my hobby, huh?

Here are a few before and after pictures of projects I found online that have inspired me.

Aren't these projects amazing???

Unfortunately, I am just a beginner so I am starting out with this simple table that I bought at a thrift store this weekend for $4.27!

I know it looks super simple, but man do I have a million different ideas dancing around in my head.

So stay tuned because "She's Crafty Part II" is coming soon...
...with a look at my refinished table!
